Human rights animation from Israel

An old friend of mine, one of the many wonderful Israelis I met while I was living and working in Gaza, now works for Gisha. Gisha is an Israeli human rights organisation that focuses on the right to freedom of movement for Palestinians.

Recently Yoni Goodman, the head animator from "Waltz with Bashir" (award winning animated documentary about Israel's war with Lebanon), made a short animated film for Gisha. I think it is a simple, eloquent illustration of the impact of Israel's closure policy in the Gaza Strip. Watch it here.

I see from these last posts that you've been busy with your writing - I hope that's going well and that you're finding your writer's voice.

I've been thinking about also writing about my Afghan experiences - one day - no competition though, it'll take me a while yet. I think you need to take a step back before being able to write objectively, without being engulfed by the emotions this place throws up.
