Portrait of girl near Goroka, Papua New Guinea
I have only one photographic passion. It is for portraits.
Since I left Afghanistan I've allowed my love for portrait to lie fallow. The last time I took any portraits was when I visited Papua New Guinea, more than a year ago. Tonight I finally sat down to process those photos.
They've made me think that I might like to take portraits of people right here in Paekakariki.
There is something about being far from 'home' that gives me the courage to ask people if I can photograph them. But will I have the chutzpah to ask my own neighbours?
Check back in here in the weeks to come to find out.
i love portraits also. so powerful. and yes - you do have the chutzpah :)

How can they say no to you?
Can't wait to see the lovely photos. I hate having my picture taken but would love it if you took my photo. :)
